Good morning,

I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns. We work hard to keep it real, and real-time.

1. Percentric News

In case you missed the announcement this weekend, you’re going to see a little less of us in your inbox. We know that most of you get about a million emails a day and we appreciate that you chose to open this email- and others- from us. We hope you’re enjoying them! For now, we will be cutting back our brief to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week. You can check out our blog here if you’re missing us!

2. Covid-19 update

We’re not out of the woods yet, folks. Last Friday, May 1st, was the deadliest day yet for the US in the coronavirus pandemic. That’s not to say we need to panic- just remember to keep practicing hand hygiene and basic social distancing.

3. Not all hand sanitizer is created equal

While we’re talking about hand hygiene, remember to check the ingredients in the hand sanitizer you’re buying. It needs to have at least 60% alcohol to get the job done. Just because you see a brand name you recognize doesn’t guarantee it will work- many major brands have alcohol free hand sanitizers that aren’t as effective at killing coronavirus as alcohol is.

4. May the 4th be with you!

It’s Star Wars Day. From Baby Yoda pancakes to deals on Star Wars merch, check out the festivities here.

5. Ask a Percentric Doc

Today’s Question: “Will these masks work?” (Texted by a friend with this link)

My friend thinks he’s hilarious. But actually, most of these will not only work to help stop the spread of coronavirus, they will also scare small children, if that’s a thing you’re going for.

Stay safe, smart, and sane.
