Good morning,

I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns. We work hard to keep it real, and real-time

1. Covid-19 update

You want to reduce new cases by up to 80%? We’re going to have to do this.

2. Not the best week for Virginia

Virginia’s not doing so hot this week. We’re one of only four states whose average daily increase in new cases is higher than it was a week ago. On top of that, when you look at jobs, we’re in the red.

3.  Protecting your mental health

In a new report, top health specialists are urging officials to address the looming mental health crisis now, while we can still make a difference.  See here for ways you can act to protect your mental health.

4. Go for a walk outside today

Seriously, it’s going to make you feel better to get out in the sunshine and move your body.

5. Ask a Percentric Doc

Today’s question:  “With businesses beginning to open back up, do you think it’s safe to start getting together with other people again?”

I think this is is a question only you can answer for yourself. Some people, especially those who are low risk, they may feel comfortable with starting to go out a bit or see a few people they can reasonably believe are healthy. Higher risk individuals may not feel ready yet, and that’s ok. I really like this article on expanding your “quarantine social bubble” for a little more detail on some of the considerations of navigating this uncharted territory. No matter what you decide, remember some of the most important things you can do to stay healthy is practice good hand hygiene and avoid touching your face.

Stay safe, smart, and sane.
