Good morning,

I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns. We work hard to keep it real, and real-time.

1. COVID- 19: Looking forward

The Surgeon General warns that the next few weeks will be the toughest yet, but it’s not all bad news. New models are showing a national decrease in projected hospitalizations and fatalities, and the Virginia’s peak of cases is now expected to be in April and not May.

2. Expect Virginia COVID-19 case numbers to jump up

This is actually good news. Sentara has announced their in house lab at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital will be processing coronavirus testing, dramatically decreasing the turn around time on a result. Where it previously took a week or more to get results, the in house processing will be able to deliver results in 24-48 hours. Just remember though, more testing and more rapid results may mean we see a jump in confirmed cases in the next week, so don’t panic.

3. Saying thank you to lab workers

On that note, don’t forget to thank dedicated lab workers who are working tirelessly behind the scenes right now doing vital work to fight COVID-19.

4. Make sure your computer doesn’t get a virus, either

See this article for some tips on cyber security while working at home.

5. Ask a Percentric Doc

Let’s tackle 10 basic questions myself and a lot of doctors are getting right now. Check out this video. It’s less than 10 minutes long and does a great run down of common concerns.

Stay safe, smart, and sane.
