I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns. We work hard to keep it real, and real-time.
Yesterday, the Covid-19 death toll in the US surpassed the number of Americans killed in the Vietnam War as new cases in America topped 1 million.
Virginia has released a new website and app for Covid-19 resources. Check out the details here.
Have you been trying to limit your trips to the store and now you have a hodgepodge of ingredients that you’re not quite sure what to do with? See this Cook-With-What-You’ve-Got Recipe Finder from Epicurious. Just click on the ingredients you have, and they find you a recipe to make. Easy-peasy.
As this pandemic and social distancing drag on, you might be feeling pressure to “get with the new normal” or asking yourself why you just can’t seem to get much done. But there is nothing normal about this situation, and it’s ok to not be ok right now.
Today’s question: I’m having so much trouble sleeping. Can I take something to help me sleep?
Well, first thing’s first: you need to figure out WHY you’re not sleeping. Are you not sleeping because you’re anxious? Maybe you’re out of work or working from home right now, so you’re spending most of the day on the couch and not expending enough energy during the day? Before jumping to medicines or even supplements, I always recommend taking a look at your sleep hygiene.
Have a question that isn’t a specific health concern, but you’d like a doctor’s opinion? Have a request for a topic you’d like our e-newsletter to cover? Click here to submit questions and requests.
