Notes from the Doc

Percentric Brief- April 1st, 2020

Good morning,

(Warning: No ‘April Fools’ jokes below. Seriously. Though I guess putting one of the links to a Tiger King meme would be fun…)

I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns.

1. Some serious COVID-19 updates and stats

Yesterday, total American deaths from COVID-19 passed 3,800, eclipsing the number of lives lost on 9/11. It’s not all bad news, though. A new, 5-minute coronavirus test has been approved and should start rolling out this week. Plus, new data indicates that social distancing efforts are beginning to slow the rise in new cases in New York City.

2. “Some Good News” with John Krasinski

Protect your mental health by fighting those feelings of anxiety and boredom with this heartwarming round up of good news from around the globe.

3. Running out of supplies?

Find out who still has some basics here

 4. A new addition to the Percentric team

A soon-to-be Family Medicine resident physician has joined our team. Elizabeth Willoughby, a graduating medical student who will be starting residency in Hampton Roads in July, will be assisting putting together our e-newsletter. You’ll start seeing her additions to some of our emails soon.

 5. Text-of-the-Day

An example not only of where doctor-by-text can rise above regular video-based or phone-based telemedicine, but also where ‘knowing’ your telemedicine doctor can help you and your family. Yes, we helped this desperate father, at no cost.

Stay safe, smart, and sane.
