Good morning,

I’m Bryan Fine, MD, MPH, CEO & Founder of Percentric. This e-newsletter – always evolving – focuses on keeping you well by addressing both non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 health concerns. We work hard to keep it real, and real-time.

1. Covid-19 update

Top government health expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and CDC director, Dr. Robert Redford, testified before Congress yesterday to warn that opening the country too soon could endanger Americans.

2. Are we beating this thing?

Does your state have the COVID-19 outbreak under control, or dose it need some work? Which countries have weathered the storm, and which are still fighting it? See this website for a simple visual breakdown of who’s doing ok and who’s still in the thick of the pandemic.

3. Sticker shock

Is your grocery budget not stretching quite as far as it used to? Turns out new data that came out yesterday shows April saw the biggest increase in grocery store prices of any single month in almost 50 years. I knew I wasn’t imagining it!

4. Brains are strange

Social distancing has most of us feeling down, but a handful of people are feeling… better?

5. Ask a Percentric Doc

Today’s question:  “We just found out that one of our workers has a positive corona test. He wasn’t having any symptoms, but he was tested because one of his personal contacts was sick. Should we get everyone else at the site tested? Should we do that right away or wait? Do we need to close down that job site? If so, for how long?”

I’ve been fielding a lot of these types of questions. The short answer here is that there is no short answer. When I get this text, it’s the beginning of an ongoing conversation with a company, the worker who tested positive, and the workers who were exposed. There are a lot of variables that will inform my recommendations about the best course of action for both the company and the individuals involved, but you can see this article for general info on exposures. Reach out here to contact a Percentric provider for answers to your COVID-19 questions.

Stay safe, smart, and sane.
